Labor Day weekend is coming up which means a break from work, an extended weekend, and tons of options for things to do in Colorado. If you want to avoid that "FOMO" and you don't mind bearing a little traffic, then here is our list of things you can do over Labor Day.
1.Colorado State Fair in Pueblo
If you're into the state fair scene then the Colorado fair has got you covered. From Western inspired activities to craft beer and great food, you'll find something for everyone. Stay for the rodeo or check out a slew of local musicians as they take the stage all weekend. http://www.coloradostatefair.com/
2.The Rocky Mountain Showdown
A state tradition, The Rocky Mountain Showdown features a head to head grudge match between CSU and University of Colorado at Mile High Stadium in Denver. You'll find a lively crowd, phenomenal tail-gating, and a lot of Colorado pride. Pick a side and enjoy this annual Colorado tradition. Get tickets here
3.Tour de Fat in FoCo
New Belgium Brewing is known for being a staple of the Fort Collins area, and every year they bring one of our favorite events to town with the Tour de Fat. A nation-wide event, this celebration of all things brews & bikes brings a full list of wild events including comedians, magicians, costumes and musicians including the All-American Rejects! If you are heading up to the FoCo area, we highly recommend you grab a costume and join the fun! https://www.newbelgium.com/events/tour-de-fat
4.Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off
Down in Colorado Springs you can attend the Labor Day Lift Off in Memorial Park. You'll be treated to a wave of hot air balloons, Wings of Blue U.S. Airforce Skydiving demonstrations, an Ultimate Frisbee Exhibition, and a paddle boarding session on Prospect lake. Festivities run all weekend and while the event is free to attend, you can purchase a ride in an air balloon at additional cost. https://coloradospringslabordayliftoff.com/
5.Telluride film festival
If you're lucky enough to attend this highly exclusive event then we don't need to sell you on it! Set in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado, the Telluride film festival features some of the most popular films on the indie scene. You'll rub elbows with celebrities and screen some of the most anticipated movies this year. www.telluridefilmfestival.org/
